It is said by many experts that the quantum theory is the most successful theory of physics. One may wonder how this can be so well when not even the foremost experts in the field can explain the deeper meaning of it without inventing words like virtual photons and "smearing of the electric charge" over a particle's surface. Over the years, mathematics has to a large extent also become the explanation, but doing so without providing a true physical understanding. It is the purpose of this book to put focus on some of the gravest errors in quantum physics and to provide alternative explanations that make physical sense. To back up our claims, we can mention that the Schrödinger wave equation does not describe the physical reality. Without the use of any wave equation, we present a much simpler solution, giving the same values for the orbiting electron’s angular momentum as the Schrödinger expression, including the zero values for all the s-sublevels. The Bohr model of the atom is incomplete in its present form, as there is one more resonance that he failed to discover. We demonstrate how phenomena taken as proof of the Schrödinger wave equation can be explained in a much simpler and equally accurate way on basis of an extended Bohr theory, this includes splitting of spectral lines like the Lamb shift and the fine and hyperfine structures. The magnetic moments of particles are calculated, even the so-called anomalous magnetic moment of the electron. The "half spin" of particles is explained and calculated, even for the muon. The neutron is shown to be a composite particle of an electron and a proton. The neutron's excess mass of 1.530988 electron masses is calculated and so also its magnetic moment. Our calculations have demonstrated that quarks and gluons do not exist. Our model also explains the centuries old enigma of how accelerating electrons do not radiate electromagnetic waves when in certain orbits. These are just a few of the theories and phenomena we have considered in this book. Of course, many will disagree with our points of view and counter them by using arguments such as “the majority of physicists can’t be wrong”. But as it is, they can indeed be wrong and the reason for this is the way the scientific community guards their pet theories and fend off competing ideas and those coming from outsiders in particular. The idea of peer reviews of papers is in some ways a good idea and even necessary. On the other hand, it has the risk of killing valid ideas and alternative views at birth and thus blocking the way towards true advances and not just patching up existing theories. To make matters even worse, physics is a highly prestigious and very competitive field. It is to a large extent driven by money and fame and scientists are not taking lightly on ideas that might cause their brain child to be disproved and their research funding to be cut off. We cannot blame physicists for being humans and having the qualities of humans. But sadly, the victim is the progress of science. This book has four parts, treating different, but yet related topics. It is written in a text book style, with sufficient details given so that even a reader with a limited background should be able to follow the reasoning. Following the mathematics should be even simpler, as there are no great steps from one line to the next. Where there might be difficulties, these are explained as inline comments. We feel confident that you will find our discoveries truly compelling and that you will begin to question the validity of QED – quantum electrodynamics and the way the uncertainty principle is being (ab)used to make absurd ideas seemingly possible. And hence the title: QED without Schrödinger & Heisenberg.Happy reading! Read more
